Find My iPhone creates a permanent link between your device and your iCloud® account that only you can remove. Per the terms of this insurance program, you must remove that link on any iPhone device that you return to Asurion so that we can fully clear it of your information.
You could be charged up to $500 if you don't turn off Find My iPhone before sending your device in.
If you are unable to turn off Find My iPhone due to the device requiring a data connection, you can either insert an active SIM card, connect to wifi, or follow the instructions for the 'I can't use my iPhone' process.
Download the Find My iPhone app from the app store on to your iPhone. Launch the app, and select the device you need to remove, and confirm that you want to remove the device from your account."
